Gästebuch
Erst vor wenigen Tagen haben wir dieses Gästebuch eröffnet. Wir würden uns über viele Einträge freuen, da wir hoffen, daß Sie, lieber Leser, viele gute Erlebnisse mit unserem Vater und Ehemann hatten, so wie wir sehr dankbar sind für alles, was er für uns getan hat.
Wenn Sie uns einen Gruß, eine Geschichte, einen Trost senden wollen, so klicken Sie bitte hier. Wir können Sie dazu nur ermutigen, denn ein online-Gästebuch hat viele Vorteile, gegenüber einem auf Papier, z.B. 1) den, daß alle, ob Verwandte oder Freunde, ob nah oder fern, jederzeit alle Einträge lesen können, außerdem können Sie jederzeit einen Eintrag vornehmen, dann wenn sie die Muse dazu haben, sogar mehrere, wenn Ihnen später noch etwas einfällt, 2) gegenüber e-mails und Briefen oder Karten, daß es ist immer im Zugriff ist und nicht abgelegt zu werden braucht.
Vielen Dank für die lieben Worte, die wir schon erhalten haben. Es gibt eine solche Vielfalt mit der Sie uns Mut machen. So liebevolle Beobachtungen und Details über unseren Vater und Ehemann - die uns für Momente trotz unserer Trauer in Erinnerung froh sein ließ - einerseits und so herzliche Anteilnahme an unserem Verlust andererseits. Alles sagt uns, daß Sie hier ganz persönlich uns beistehen und an den Joachim Arend denken, den Sie kennen. Ganz, ganz herzlichen Dank!!!

Dear Doris, Ariane,Karsten (family)
We were saddened to hear of your loss of Joe, husband, father ,friend. Although we have not seen you over the past few years we do have many happy memories of Joe and the Arend family.
I first met you Doris at Crescent school picking up Karsten. Later we were introduced to Joe at the Black & White Ball. We thought you were an amazingly handsome and intersting couple. Our relationship blossomed through the friendship of our boys and through our connection with the Polo For Heart Committee. Joe was always such a pleasant, courteous 'old world' gentleman, as well as an intersting conversationalist. He and the rest of the Arend family will always have a special place in our memories. May your happy memories sustain you at this difficult time.

I would like to express my sincere condolences to the Arend family. Losing such a treasured member of your family is a devastating loss that is hard to bear. You have been constantly by his side during his illness, and I'm sure that your care and loving support was a great help to him. I hope that the memories of the many happy times that you spent with him will be a comfort to you during this difficult period. My deepest sympathy goes out to all of you.

Dear Doris, On behalf of the Board of Directors, Volunteers and Staff of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, please accept our deepest condolences on the sad passing of your husband, Joachim. We know Joachim will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew him. We thank God for his full life of intellectual excellence, his warm spirit of caring and friendship and celebrate the legacies that he leaves behind. Doris, you have been a caring friend of the Foundation for many years and our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family at this sad time.
